About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Competently perform basic to intermediate nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including general and cardiac imaging.
  • Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information and compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Inject patients with radiopharmaceuticals, observing proper venipuncture techniques and radiation safety considerations.
  • Label and dispense Nuclear Pharmacy drugs per physician prescription.
  • Relay pertinent patient history information to appropriate staff and departments.
  • Post-process images, accurately identifying and labeling them with patient information.
  • Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Identify equipment performance issues and perform quality assurance tests and calibration procedures.
  • Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper technique.
Requirements
  • Nuclear Medicine Tech (N) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 1 year.
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (CNMT) issued by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent knowledge.
