Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Administrator to join our team at BAE Systems USA. As a key member of our Engineering Research and Development Center, you will provide technical support and expertise to advance our services, capabilities, infrastructure, and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform standard Linux system administration duties to maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems.
  • Coordinate with network administrators to ensure seamless integration of systems.
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation of computing resources.
  • Participate in the installation, integration, acceptance testing, and ongoing maintenance of our HPC systems and software environment.
  • Assist with forecasting resource limitations and provide recommendations for increasing efficiency through proper scheduling and load balancing techniques.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years' working experience, or equivalent experience.
  • 8570.01M/IAT-II; DoD 8570 certification - Security+ and OS cert, Linux+, RedHat, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of Linux and Unix operating systems concepts as well as systems administration experience.
  • Ability to develop and maintain documentation on system administration procedures for routine and complex tasks.
  • Ability to create and maintain Information Assurance (IA) compliance documentation of the Information System.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with compiling, installing, and porting software.
  • Ability to understand application scaling issues related to problem resolution, algorithm choice.
  • Experience with Storage Architectures: SAN, SAS, FC, SATA, Bandwidth, Performance.
  • Ability to manage development of appropriate application benchmarks, analyze results, and determine optimal configurations for processor type/speed, size of memory/cache, and memory interconnect fabric for customer problem domains.
  • Familiarity with multi-factor authentication platforms and solutions, and Identity Management such as OpenID, LDAP, and Kerberos.
  • Security implementations using multi-factor authentication, PKI, or Kerberos and Unix OS hardening to DoD STIG standards.
  • Experience programming or troubleshooting Python code.
  • Experience with supporting Apache Web Server.
  • Experience with Zabbix.
  • Experience with Red Hat Satellite or Red Hat Identity Manager.
  • Experience with BIND DNS.
  • Experience with Ansible.
  • Experience with Gitlab.

Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain a DoD interim Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS.
  • DoD 8570 Certification compliance – Security+ and OS cert, Linux+, RedHat, etc.
  • May require occasional after-hours support and response to emergency situations for problem resolution.

Pay Information:
Full-Time Salary Range: $103,590 - $176,130

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
