SSM Health is seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for interpreting and reporting test results, performing routine and complex technical laboratory analyses, and communicating findings to physicians.
Responsibilities- Perform a full range of laboratory tests from simple blood tests to more complex tests.
- Interpret test reports and communicate findings to physicians.
- Escalate unusual, critical or abnormal results.
- Operate complex electronic equipment, computers and precision instruments.
- Maintain accuracy of equipment and reagents by performing established preventive maintenance procedures.
- Assist providers in choosing appropriate lab test.
- Perform and evaluate quality control procedures.
- Operate, maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot instruments.
- Assist with the proper storage of hazardous materials.
- Review current literature and attend meetings and seminars to keep informed of new developments in field.
- Assist in the proficiency testing program in the lab.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate's degree or equivalent years of experience and education.
- No experience required.
