We invite applications for the role of Facilities Engineer I. This position will involve a structured schedule of four consecutive 10-hour shifts. The selected candidate will be responsible for working in a dynamic environment that operates around the clock. Flexibility in scheduling is essential as the role may require various shifts.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Managing and operating automated and mechanical environmental control systems, which involves monitoring and programming master controls, calibrating systems, and troubleshooting errors to maintain optimal facility conditions.
  • Performing maintenance and repairs on equipment related to environmental control systems, including electrical and mechanical components, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Conducting routine preventative maintenance and inspections of facilities to identify and address unsafe conditions.
  • Collaborating with other trades personnel to assist in the maintenance and repair of building infrastructure.
  • Planning and coordinating major equipment repairs and service upgrades across various trades.
  • Addressing tenant concerns regarding safety and environmental conditions, ensuring timely follow-up on service requests.
  • Coordinating maintenance efforts with external contractors as needed.
  • Managing inventory and ordering necessary parts and supplies.
  • Utilizing and maintaining tools and equipment common to skilled trades.
  • Keeping accurate records and preparing reports related to maintenance activities.

About You

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in commercial service environments.
  • Comfort in working within a correctional facility setting.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A willingness to learn and develop additional skills.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: A minimum of three years in building operations and maintenance.
  • License: A valid Driver's License is required at the time of application.
  • Licenses and certifications must remain current as a condition of employment.
