Job Title: PET CT Technologist

At Yale New Haven Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated PET CT Technologist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The PET CT Technologist will be responsible for performing high-quality PET CT imaging procedures, utilizing complex imaging equipment to produce quality images for subsequent interpretation by nuclear physicians. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of radiopharmaceuticals, nuclear medicine equipment, and nuclear medicine imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform high-quality PET CT imaging procedures, utilizing appropriate age-specific standards to obtain desired diagnostic patient information.
  • Perform various radiopharmacy duties, including receipt, preparation, administration, and storage of radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals, ensuring safety and integrity of agents used.
  • Perform quality control procedures to ensure optimal performance of gamma cameras, computers, and other related auxiliary equipment.
  • Practice safe handling of radioactive materials, following departmental and federal regulations to minimize radiation exposure to self and others.
  • Schedule patients for procedures, track assigned patients' arrival and completion status, and perform job-related tasks in a timely manner to ensure departmental goals are met.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an A.M.A. approved program in Nuclear Medicine and Radiological Technology Program.
  • Demonstrate technical skills to meet entry-level standards of routine CT imaging and 1-2 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine.
  • NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology or ARRT(R) certified by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist and Connecticut State License.
Working Conditions:

The PET CT Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring excellent communication and customer service skills. The ideal candidate will be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds to assist with patient transfers.
