Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Cardiology Technologist to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of technical and professional duties utilizing complex imaging equipment to produce high-quality images for subsequent interpretation by nuclear cardiologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality dynamic, static, and gated SPECT and PET imaging procedures, adhering to age-specific standards to obtain diagnostic patient information for referring physicians.
  • Operate various SPECT and PET/CT cameras and computers in accordance with prescribed departmental procedures to produce images of high diagnostic quality.
  • Perform various radiopharmacy duties, including receipt, preparation, administration, and storage of radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals, ensuring safety and integrity of agents used.
  • Conduct quality control procedures to ensure optimal performance of gamma cameras, computers, and other related auxiliary equipment.
  • Practice safe handling of radioactive materials, adhering to departmental and federal regulations to minimize radiation exposure to self and others.
  • Schedule patients for procedures and track assigned patients' arrival and completion status.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an A.M.A. approved program in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Demonstrated technical skills to meet entry-level standards of routine Nuclear Cardiology imaging.
  • NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology required.
  • CPR Certification required.
