Radiology Per Diem Registered Nurse

The George Washington University Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Per Diem Registered Nurse to join our Radiology team.
This role is critical in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of radiology services.
- Provide direct patient care before, during, and after radiology procedures.
- Administer medications and contrast agents as necessary.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any changes in their condition.
- Educate patients and their families about the procedure and post-procedure care.
- Collaborate with radiologists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document all care provided.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct patient care before, during, and after radiology procedures.
- Administering medications and contrast agents as necessary.
- Monitoring patients' vital signs and responding to any changes in their condition.
- Educating patients and their families about the procedure and post-procedure care.
- Collaborating with radiologists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documenting all care provided.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A current RN license in the state of Washington, D.C.
- A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in oncology or radiation therapy.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Strong clinical skills and experience with chemotherapy administration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
