Radiologic Technologist

Role Overview:
As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for reviewing patient medical histories and physician directives to ensure accurate imaging procedures.
Patient Education:
Provide comprehensive information to patients regarding imaging processes, equipment, and examinations to promote understanding and cooperation.
Contrast Administration:
When necessary, prepare and administer contrast agents and medications within your professional scope.
Patient Monitoring:
Continuously observe patient conditions and promptly report any changes in status as required.
Equipment Preparation:
Ensure all imaging equipment and supplies are ready for use.
Safety and Quality Control:
Implement safety protocols and conduct quality control checks on imaging devices.
Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve equipment issues or report malfunctions as needed.
Imaging Procedures:
Position patients appropriately and perform imaging studies.
Image Analysis:
Evaluate imaging results for quality and address any issues by repositioning patients or repeating procedures as necessary.
Result Reporting:
Accurately enter, transmit, and communicate imaging results.
For Stress Lab Technologists:
Licensure Requirements:
Registered ARRT Radiologic Technologist - RT(R) and/or NMTCB or Registered ARRT Nuclear Medicine - RT(N).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions effectively.
2. Prepare initial documentation for cardiologist review.
3. Conduct exercise, pharmaceutical, and echocardiogram stress tests.
4. Recognize and respond to chest pain and arrhythmias during stress testing.
5. Manage inventory of stress lab supplies.
6. Clean and sterilize equipment as required.
7. Troubleshoot minor issues and adjust procedures as necessary.
8. Collect and review relevant medical history and medication information for prescribed studies.
9. Assist with computerized charting and departmental process improvements.
Minimum Education:
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Experience:
At least one year of experience in CT imaging, with a CT registry or eligibility.
Essential Skills:
Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
Certifications:
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Licenses:
Must hold a valid Radiologic Technologist license and be ARRT registered.
