Job Title: Electrical Specialist

NSC Technologies is currently hiring an Electrical Specialist for work in the shipbuilding industry. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Electrician. Must have working knowledge and understanding of shipboard and industrial/commercial work practices on military bases and industrial facilities.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Repair, Install, and Test Electrical Systems: Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests complex electrical circuits, cables, equipment, etc.
  • Use of Hand Tools and Testing Equipment: Uses hand tools and testing equipment.
  • Inspect and Test Electrical Equipment: Inspects and tests electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits.
  • Isolate Defects in Wiring: Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using general and specialized testing equipment.
  • Replace Faulty Electrical Components: Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems.
  • Dismantle and Repair Electrical Machinery: Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armature.
  • Mount and Complete Electrical Circuits: Mounts motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications.
  • Work from Drawings and Blueprints: Works from drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Provide Guidance and Work Leadership: Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced team members.
  • Perform Work Following Established Safety Procedures: Performs all work following established safety procedures.
  • Participate in Special Projects: Participates in special projects as required.
