Reporting Structure: General Superintendent/Superintendent

Employment Type: Full-time

Work Schedule: 6 days per week, 12 hours per day

Supervisory Duties:

  • No supervisory responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate specialized machinery, including telescope booms, lattice booms, and hydraulic cranes.
  • Manage the operation, setup, and routine maintenance of assigned equipment.
  • Understand all functions of the assigned crane equipment and ensure proper setup for safe lifting operations within rated capacities.
  • Exhibit leadership while directing mobilization crews, including riggers, signalpersons, and truck drivers during equipment setup, operation, dismantling, and transportation.
  • Maintain a customer-focused attitude and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.
  • Make informed decisions to uphold safety practices at all times.
  • Regularly maintain, lubricate, and clean assigned equipment.
  • Coordinate fieldwork with the Superintendent and team members.
  • Oversee and guide apprentices under the supervision of the Superintendent or foreman.
  • Adhere to lock-out and tag procedures.
  • Complete daily and weekly inspection logs as mandated by Bauer.
  • Refuel equipment at the end of each workday.
  • Prepare and load all necessary rigging and crane accessories or tools for daily operations.
  • Report any accidents or safety concerns to the Superintendent or safety department.

This position may require travel for projects across the Southeast region.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • NCCCO or equivalent ANSI/ASME accredited crane operator certification.
  • Completion of OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety Training.
  • Must be fit for duty, capable of navigating job sites, and comply with all safety requirements and site-specific rules.
  • Ability to travel for work assignments.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Excellent depth perception and reaction time.
  • Visual acuity to follow hand signals, maintain logs, and inspect machinery.
  • Capability to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods (10-12 hours).

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience operating telescope booms, lattice booms, and/or hydraulic cranes.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
