Job Title: Assistant Project Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to assist in the overall construction of light industrial ground-up projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager in managing budgets, safety, and schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the team with estimating light industrial projects, including reviewing plans, creating bid packages, and qualifying bids.
  • Assist the Project Manager in overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion.
  • Assist the Project Manager in reviewing project schedules and deliverables.
  • Assist the Project Manager with negotiating terms of agreements.
  • Draft scopes for subcontracts.
  • Work with the Project Manager and PC during the submittal process.
  • Obtain necessary permits and comply with local regulations.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and Superintendent to direct construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Review work progress on a daily basis.
  • Prepare internal and external reports on project status.
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve emerging issues.
  • Ensure quality construction standards and proper construction techniques and safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • Proven working experience or education in construction management.
  • Knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages, such as Sage and CMiC.
  • Ability to plan and see the big picture.
  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • BS degree in construction science, architecture, or a related field is a plus but not required.
  • Two to six years of project management experience or education.
  • Prior experience with commercial construction estimating is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and general computer literacy.
  • Confident ability to fly a drone and experience with DroneDeploy is a plus.
