Position Summary:
As a Senior Applications Engineer 3 (NPD), you will play a crucial role in the following areas:
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate leadership in adhering to environmental health and safety standards.
- Design and coordinate the integration of machinery into manufacturing processes, utilizing engineering principles and software tools.
- Create and modify CNC machine programs using CAM software, leveraging programming knowledge.
- Develop work holding solutions for component manufacturing, employing SolidWorks CAD software.
- Utilize software such as SolidWorks, MasterCAM, and Esprit for design and manufacturing tasks.
- Engage in design reviews to enhance manufacturability of part prints.
- Identify necessary parts, tools, and processes to meet manufacturing specifications.
- Program and troubleshoot CNC machines, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Conduct capability studies on machined components to ensure production consistency.
- Operate manual and CNC machinery, including mills, lathes, and grinders.
- Assess equipment needs for in-house component manufacturing and provide recommendations.
- Contribute to the design and improvement of equipment and systems to meet production objectives.
- Oversee the installation of machinery to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Mentor and train engineers and machinists in machining and programming best practices.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while providing support to machinists.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and productivity.
- Uphold company standards of integrity, safety, and a positive work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with 4-7 years of relevant experience, including CNC machining/programming.
- Ability to conduct user training and supervise junior engineers.
- Contribute to complex project aspects independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with industry concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Strong teamwork and proactive communication skills.
- Willingness to engage in ongoing education as required.
- Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and blueprint interpretation.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills under deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping abilities.
- Self-motivated and willing to extend efforts as necessary.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
- Commitment to company values and flexibility in departmental assignments.
Physical Requirements:
- Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform various physical activities throughout the workday.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and potential hazards.
- Willingness to wear Personal Protection Equipment as required.
