Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Professional to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a Registered Nurse in our Mental Health department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to patients with mental health conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one interaction with patients requiring intense care.
  • Facilitate group teaching and task-oriented sessions.
  • Monitor and document patient observations, including mental status and response to treatment interventions.
  • Communicate with patients, families, and professional staff to ensure effective care.
  • Utilize knowledge of the Michigan Mental Health Code to educate patients and their families about their rights.

Requirements

  • Two years of college study in behavioral health or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Six months of related clinical experience working with mentally ill patients.
  • Ability to analyze patient status, anticipate and evaluate consequences, and respond quickly to volatile situations.
  • High level of interpersonal and clinical skills to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships.
