Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

The role of a Pharmacy Technician at Walmart involves ensuring compliance with Company policies, procedures, and regulations for assigned areas. This includes analyzing and interpreting reports, implementing and monitoring loss prevention and safety controls, overseeing safety, operational, and quality assurance reviews, and developing action plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and accurately dispense prescription orders under the direction of a Pharmacist.
  • Counsel customers regarding health care and prescription medication needs, maintaining confidential information, and controlling medication procedures as permitted by local, state, and federal laws.
  • Evaluate the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and assess potential chemical interactions and side effects associated with prescribed medications.
  • Ensure accurate dictation, communication, and interpretation of written prescriptions to/from physicians.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information, documentation, and assigned records as required by Company policies, and local, State, and Federal guidelines.
  • Provide customer service by acknowledging customers, identifying needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving issues, and promoting products while maintaining a safe shopping environment.
