Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist

Nemours is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist to join our team in Orlando, Florida.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a talented Clinical Pharmacist to provide pharmacy services within our Inpatient and Outpatient Retail Pharmacy Department and the Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, FL.
Key Responsibilities- Review, clarify, verify, and provide recommendations for medication orders and be responsible for the dispensing of medications, and the activities surrounding dispensing, throughout the hospital and its associated clinics.
- Provide pediatric pharmaceutical services to improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes, including advising physicians and practitioners on issues concerning drug therapy, the inherent toxicity of drugs, drug-drug, drug-food interactions and side effects.
- Coordinate the activities of pharmacy technicians engaged in the preparation, labeling and delivery of medications in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the dispensing of drugs, controlled drugs, investigational drugs, and the maintenance of required records.
- Participate in the quality improvement and medication use review activities of the department, collecting data, conducting quality monitors and inspections, and maintaining logs, records, and other documentation as assigned.
- Promote the use of the Nemours Children's Hospital drug formulary by converting non-formulary orders to formulary when possible, but facilitate procurement of non-formulary drugs when necessary.
- Bachelor's degree required, Pharm D preferred.
- Minimum of six (6) months experience required, with prior work experience to include months/years working as a Pharmacy Technician, a Pharmacist Intern, and/or while in a Residency program.
- Hospital pharmacy experience preferred, with pediatric hospital experience preferred.
- Currently licensed by the State of Florida or legally eligible.
- American Heart Association BLS required within 90 days of hire.
