Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Special Credit Group as a Director in the Leveraged Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and managing a portfolio of assigned distressed Leveraged Finance credits, assisting in the turnaround or exit of distressed credit relationships, and performing various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Management: Continuously monitor and manage existing transactions, including analyzing financial statements, developing financial models, and determining the ability to make debt service payments.
  • Credit Analysis: Review and process waivers and amendments, prepare credit applications, manage the credit process with the Credit Department and back office, and perform due diligence activities.
  • Business Acumen: Keep abreast of business and market trends that may affect deal/portfolio performance.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare periodic reports and information pertaining to the account for senior management, and proactively escalate credit risk and loss events.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Analyze and report reserve/write-off calculations, assign proper accrual/non-accrual status, and handle credit cost forecasts.
Requirements
  • Experience: 9+ years' experience in leveraged finance or corporate finance credit underwriting or portfolio management at a financial institution or turnaround consulting firm.
  • Education: BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Preferred: MA/MS/MBA, formal credit training, and workout experience.
  • Skills: Deep understanding of Leveraged Finance, Corporate Finance, loan sales & syndication, proven analytical and financial modeling skills, and excellent communication and presentation skills.
Additional Requirements
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external matters in accordance with banking regulations, bank policy, and best practices.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to deal team members and give guidance and feedback.
  • Undertake ad hoc tasks and projects as required and assigned.
