Position Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and skilled individual to take on the role of a Consulting Healthcare Reception Specialist. In this essential position, you will serve as the initial point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring they receive a welcoming and positive experience from the outset.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Greet patients and visitors warmly, addressing their inquiries efficiently.
2. Schedule and confirm appointments, medical consultations, and surgeries.
3. Maintain patient accounts by accurately recording and updating personal and financial details.
4. Ensure smooth patient flow by communicating arrivals or delays to the relevant medical personnel.
5. Uphold patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
6. Manage patient billing and payments, including processing insurance claims.
7. Collaborate with both medical and administrative staff to enhance the patient experience.
8. Facilitate patient care by organizing medical records and correspondence.
9. Conduct patient satisfaction assessments and implement feedback for service enhancement.
10. Stay informed about updates in medical and insurance regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical reception or related role within the healthcare sector.
- Proficient in medical terminology and patient scheduling software.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- High attention to detail, particularly regarding patient records and billing.
- Familiarity with insurance processes and claims management.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality as per HIPAA standards.
- Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to foresee and address potential issues.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
- CPR certification is advantageous.
