Job Title: Infrastructure Maintenance Technician

Job Overview

General Purpose

  • Carry out a range of semi-skilled and skilled functions in the upkeep of roadways and stormwater management systems.
  • Utilize various machinery and vehicles employed in construction, maintenance, and repair tasks.

Supervision

  • Reports directly to the Infrastructure Crew Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain regular attendance and demonstrate the ability to work in diverse environments.
  • Operate specialized light and heavy machinery, tools, and equipment.
  • Engage in manual labor activities to sustain roadways, stormwater infrastructure, and municipal facilities.
  • Assist in construction, maintenance, and general labor operations.
  • Inspect, clean, and perform routine servicing on vehicles and machinery.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License.
  • Preferred: One year of experience with light to heavy machinery.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Fundamental understanding of operating principles for light to heavy machinery.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

Special Requirements

  • Commercial Driver's License is preferred.

Tools and Equipment Utilized

  • Motorized vehicles and machinery.
  • Patching truck, backhoe, dump truck, utility truck, street sweeper, among others.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, crawl, communicate, and utilize hands and fingers.
  • Occasionally lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision capabilities are necessary.

Work Environment

  • Primarily outdoor work, subject to extreme weather conditions.
  • May encounter environments with risks of electrical shock and vibration.
  • Typically operates in a loud work environment.
