Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the school year in a supportive and inclusive environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and a strong commitment to supporting students in achieving their academic and social goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement IEPs: Create and implement individualized education plans tailored to each student's needs, taking into account their unique abilities and learning styles.
  • Modify Curriculum: Adapt general education curriculum to accommodate students with disabilities, ensuring that all students have access to a high-quality education.
  • Assess Student Progress: Regularly assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly, using data-driven approaches to inform instruction.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and other professionals to support student development and ensure a cohesive approach to education.
  • Employ Effective Teaching Techniques: Employ a variety of teaching techniques and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, promoting student engagement and participation.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate and complete student records and prepare reports on children and activities, as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
  • Create a Positive Learning Environment: Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation, promoting a love of learning and a sense of belonging.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Licensure: Valid state Special Education Teaching License.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children with disabilities preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of various disabilities and special education laws and regulations.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
