Dialysis Nurse Manager

Fresenius Medical Care North America seeks a skilled Dialysis Nurse Manager to oversee daily operations, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient clinical management. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to lead a team of direct patient care staff and collaborate with Facility Administrators.
About the Role
This position involves managing the daily decisions to ensure continuity of care, maintaining patient and staff safety, and overseeing the delivery of safe, effective, quality outcomes. Key responsibilities include providing day-to-day guidance, support, and direction to direct patient care staff, participating in department staffing, recommending disciplinary actions, and ensuring compliance with company and facility-approved procedures and policies.
Responsibilities
- Provide informal feedback on an ongoing basis and formal feedback input for annual performance evaluations
- Participate in patient care plan meetings and maintain knowledge in current practices related to dialysis principles and techniques by attending all scheduled in-services
- Train and orient staff as necessary and routinely observe and guide direct patient care staff for appropriate technique and adherence to facility policies and procedures
- Promote and assist with compliance to OSHA programs, maintaining a safe and clean working environment
- Supervise all documentation of patient information and coordinate Charge Nurse duties with Staff RNs acting in relief charge capacity
- Assess daily patient care needs, develop, and distribute patient care assignments appropriately, and assume primary responsibility in emergency situations
- Monitor and supervise patient care activity during dialysis and assist as necessary, collaborating with direct patient care teams to make decisions benefiting patient care
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (R.N.)
- Registered and licensed to practice in the applicable State
- Minimum 12 months of nursing experience, plus 6 months of specialized experience providing clinical nursing care to dialysis patients in either a chronic or acute setting
- Certified in CPR or successfully complete course in CPR certification
- Good communication skills – verbal and written
Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
