Position Summary:
As the Financial Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting, compliance, and internal reporting functions within The New York Times Shared Services Center. You will report directly to the Senior Manager of Financial Accounting and Reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage accounting staff and ensure the completion of essential tasks such as month-end closing and account reconciliations.
2. Review and guide the preparation of Company-wide Sales Tax returns.
3. Set priorities and provide support to the accounting team.
4. Serve as a resource for staff to resolve issues effectively.
5. Enforce corporate policies and monitor departmental work to enhance efficiency.
6. Maintain a robust control environment and collaborate with the Director of Corporate Compliance on SOX controls related to Project Costing, Asset Management, Lease Management, and General Ledger.
7. Develop and implement new processes to boost departmental efficiency.
8. Ensure high levels of customer service and resolve any customer-related issues.
9. Act as a primary liaison for both internal and external auditors.
10. Prepare documentation and schedules for audit requests.
11. Analyze and report on large data sets using data analytics tools.
12. Monitor employee performance, provide constructive feedback, and foster professional development.
13. Support the Senior Manager of Financial Accounting and Reporting in various initiatives.
14. Manage special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience.
- At least 2 years in an accounting management role or as a team lead.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and CPA certification required.

Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Workday Financials.
- Knowledge of technical accounting standards (GAAP, FASB).
- Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
- Understanding of Sales Tax and VAT processes.

Compensation:
The annual base pay range for this role is between $95,000.00 and $115,000.00.
