Position Overview:
This role is pivotal in overseeing the Southern Regional signing and striping hub, with a focus on managing all signing technicians within the designated regional area. The supervisor will play a key role in formulating the annual signing work program and will be responsible for the management of all signing assets, including overhead signs, shoulder-mounted signs, and delineation signage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations and develop, prepare, and implement annual work plans. Ensure that both contracted and in-house work is completed and inspected effectively.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the signing and striping team, enhancing the skills of existing and new staff to maximize operational efficiencies.
- Manage all roadside and roadway features within the applicable region, ensuring regular inspections and addressing sign knockdowns promptly.
- Review project plans, specifications, and estimates, offering technical input during construction projects and ensuring compliance with maintenance contracts.
- Monitor permit work for adherence to specifications and department standards, and oversee right-of-way for unauthorized encroachments.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A high level of technical knowledge related to roadway signing and pavement markings.
- Strong understanding of established procurement procedures and ADOT specifications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and strong interpersonal relations.
- Proven management and team leadership skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and evaluate the work of others.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Applicants must hold a valid Arizona Class D Driver License and possess a High School Diploma or GED.
