Job Summary

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NM Tech) plays a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by performing nuclear medicine procedures, PET, and theranostic procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients. Working under the general supervision of a Radiologist, this professional is responsible for ensuring high-quality imaging procedures are performed in a timely manner, adhering to established protocols and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality nuclear medicine, PET, and theranostic procedures, following exam protocols and ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Systematically evaluate the quality of imaging procedures and maintain equipment by performing quality control (Q.C.) as required by imaging manufacturers, radiation materials license (RAM), or American College of Radiology (ACR).
  • Communicate effectively with patients, nursing partners, physicians, and emergency response teams to ensure accurate transfer of patient images and timely review by physician partners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, nursing partners, medical staff, and Radiologists to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
  • Ensure adherence to radiation safety requirements, policies, protocols, and techniques, verifying correct radioactive drug selection and safely administering radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications per protocol.
Requirements
  • ARRT-N Nuclear Medicine Tech (ARRT-N) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) certification.
  • Ability to observe changes in patient medical conditions and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in providing care for various age groups, including newborn, pediatric, young adult, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and maintain a calm and helpful attitude under stress.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to provide customer satisfaction and limit wait times.
