Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform designated work and cleaning routines for the Dietary Department, adhering to Federal and State long-term care regulations and Dietary Department Policy and Procedures.
  • Assist the cook in the preparation and service of meals, ensuring timely and efficient meal delivery.
  • Meet scheduled meal and snack times, maintaining a clean and safe dining environment.
  • Follow established reporting procedures for supplies and equipment needs, as well as report any damaged or loose fixtures, flooring, or tiling requiring replacement or repair.
  • Assist in receiving and storing food supplies, maintaining inventory and ensuring proper storage and handling.
  • Understand and follow facility's fire and disaster plans, participating in drills and actual emergencies as needed.
  • Follow facility Infection Control policy, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ensure all residents are treated fairly, with kindness, dignity, and respect, reporting any grievances or complaints to the Dietary Manager.
  • Maintain compliance with all HIPAA regulations, handling resident data with confidentiality and care.
Requirements:
  • High School graduate and previous institutional dietary service experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments.
  • Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions, demonstrating numerical accountability and good motor coordination.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including emergency situations, and maintain patience and tolerance towards staff, residents, and family members.
