Position Overview:

The selected candidate will operate under general supervision to deliver advanced support to end-users concerning personal computers, servers, and mainframe applications and hardware. This role involves addressing issues that first-tier help desk support cannot resolve. The technician will collaborate with network services, software systems engineering, and applications development to restore services and identify core problems.

The technician may simulate or recreate user issues to troubleshoot operational difficulties effectively. Recommendations for system modifications will be made to minimize user problems. The candidate is expected to maintain a high level of technical proficiency in their area of expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide software installation and configuration support.
- Perform technical, operational, and training assistance to users of personal computers, either remotely or on-site.
- Install and test personal computers, printers, and other peripherals.
- Configure operating systems and load application software.
- Troubleshoot incidents related to printers, computers, and peripherals.
- Conduct hardware and software diagnostics and coordinate necessary repairs.
- Resolve computer system issues, ensuring effective communication between users and local area network components.
- Participate in evaluating system configurations and software.

Required Skills:

- Proficiency in Windows 10 and Windows 7.
- Experience with hardware, desktop support, and Active Directory.
- Familiarity with imaging and troubleshooting processes.

Additional Qualifications:

- Current DoD 8570 IA Baseline Certification, IAT Level I (e.g., A+ CE, Network+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security).
- Ability to obtain the appropriate DoD 8570 IA Computing Environment Certification within six months of employment.
- Experience supporting Windows 7, Windows 10, and MS Office 2013.
- Proficient in using Remedy or similar ticketing systems.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capacity to coordinate with various IT areas to complete assignments.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Desired Skills:

- Experience maintaining Lexmark, HP, or Ricoh printer devices.
- Previous experience with USACE/ACE-IT.
- Familiarity with working in a DoD environment.
- Experience supporting Office 365.
