Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Michaels Stores. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our Distribution Center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including battery changes, trash collection, and equipment operation.
  • Assist facilities technicians with preventative maintenance, installation, and repair of powered equipment.
  • Complete tasks independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and provide updates on task progress.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalency preferred.
  • 1+ years of comparable experience in a maintenance or facilities role.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent lifting and carrying of products weighing 5-60 pounds.
  • Frequent pushing or pulling of materials and equipment.
  • Frequent standing and walking in the warehouse.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting.

Work Environment

  • Ongoing exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Ongoing moderate noise level from equipment and machinery.
  • Potential exposure to fumes and airborne particles.
