We are seeking a skilled Refractory Specialist to join our team in Birmingham, AL.

As a dynamic subsidiary of Fives North American Combustion, we offer innovative engineering, fabrication, and construction services in industrial thermal processes.

Your Role:

  • Lay and align firebricks, gunite, castables, and refractory tile to build or repair structures or high-temperature equipment
  • Tearout refractory masonry
  • Lay refractory bricks
  • Install poured castables
  • Install gunnable constables, shotcrete, and linewith ceramic welding
  • Install refractory material by plastic ramming
  • Operate refractory pumps, gunite rigs, refractory mixers, forklifts, skid steers, etc.
  • Read blueprints or job specifications to perform various welding tasks

Requirements:

  • Experience with firebrick, castable, plastics, ceramics, gunite, shotcrete/pump, anchor
  • Welding for thermal process applications
  • 2+ years of construction experience
  • Skill in all phases of refractory construction, including gunite, pouring, ramming, pumping, ceramic fiber, and firebrick installation
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time with potential additional travel
