Job Summary:

Sigma Healthcare is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing general radiography procedures under the direction of the Site Manager and Radiology Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare procedure rooms and patients for all studies, ensuring proper disinfection of equipment and disposal of dirty linen.
  • Educate patients regarding ordered procedures and answer any related questions, obtaining patient history and written consent for exams.
  • Verify patient information, check for appropriate ICD-9/10 codes, and utilize patient safety screening/consent forms to ensure all safety precautions have been addressed prior to procedures.
  • Perform procedures in accordance with established protocols, positioning patients and selecting appropriate equipment necessary to accomplish procedures.
  • Monitor patients during procedures, notifying Radiologists of reactions or problems, and assist Radiologists when necessary.
  • Ensure quality images for all completed procedures prior to releasing patients, reviewing films or sending images to the PACS System, depending on the type of procedure.
  • Carry out duties and assume responsibility for portions of the quality assurance program, as directed by equipment vendors, maintaining competence with HIS, RIS, PHS, and PACS.
  • Run a pending work report daily to ensure all exams have been properly charged, tracking PACS and HIS errors on PI reports following the QA policy.
  • Maintain adequate supplies, stocking rooms as assigned, and reporting supply needs and par levels to designated personnel.

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology
  • Registered Technologist, Radiography Medical Radiologic Technologist, Basic Life Support, or other certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
