About the Role

Ochsner Health System is seeking a highly skilled Child Life Specialist to join our team. As a Child Life Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing emotional support and comfort to children and their families during their healthcare journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessments, interventions, and therapeutic techniques to children from infancy to adolescence.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Advocate for the needs of children and their families, ensuring their voices are heard and their concerns are addressed.
  • Participate in professional development activities to maintain clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Family Centered Care initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Child and Family Studies, Child Development, or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in Child Life, Child and Family Studies, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
