Position Overview:

Cree's Materials division is looking for a Lead Industrial Process Engineer to join our expanding Industrial Engineering Team. This team plays a crucial role in capacity planning within the Materials sector and supports the design of factory layouts and equipment installation timelines as we expand our manufacturing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain essential capacity models through comprehensive data analysis and a deep understanding of processes to create precise equipment forecasts, enabling the Materials division to meet its production goals.
  • Enhance next-generation capacity modeling by implementing new data analysis techniques utilizing advanced analytics.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, supply chain experts, project managers, and senior leadership, to achieve critical business objectives.
  • Apply advanced lean manufacturing principles to evaluate material flows, production costs, and process requirements to optimize personnel and equipment utilization.
  • Support continuous manufacturing operations by identifying production bottlenecks and devising strategies to ensure capacity aligns with throughput targets. Conduct time studies and data analysis to address production challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Research, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing setting, with a focus on the semiconductor industry.
  • Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
  • Proficient in Excel and familiar with SQL.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and develop practical solutions to technical challenges.
  • A proactive attitude with a desire to understand and improve Cree's manufacturing and business processes.
  • Excellent organizational and team-building skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across various audiences.
  • Passion for driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • 4 to 10+ years of technical experience.
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in SQL data mining and database management.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Expertise in databases and data analysis tools (SQL, Oracle, Excel, VBA, JMP, etc.).
  • Experience with data processes, including data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing.
  • Familiarity with forecasting and simulation in a manufacturing context.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of factory physics and operations research.
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing is a plus.
  • Leadership experience and project management certification are advantageous.
