Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Expert to join our team at Rotolo's Lake Charles.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year

Job Responsibilities

The primary objective of this role is to prepare high-quality food that exceeds our guests' expectations.

To achieve this goal, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the quality of products served consistently meets our standards.
  • Knowing and adhering to Rotolo's standard portion sizes, cooking methods, prep methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules.
  • Stocking and maintaining sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure a smooth service period.
  • Portioning food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
  • Maintaining clean and sanitary work station areas, including tables, shelves, grills, ovens, prep tables, refrigeration equipment, walk-in cooler, sinks, floors, walls, etc.
  • FOLLOWING PROPER PLATE PRESENTATION AND GARNISH SET UP FOR ALL DISHES.
  • Handling, storing, and rotating all products properly.
  • Being ready and willing to assist fellow kitchen workers as situations arise.
  • Assisting in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
  • Being available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant.
  • CLOSING KITCHEN PROPERLY AND FOLLOWING THE CLOSING CHECKLIST FOR KITCHEN STATIONS. ASSISTING OTHERS IN CLOSING THE KITCHEN.
  • OPENING KITCHEN PROPERLY AND FOLLOWING THE OPENING CHECKLIST FOR KITCHEN STATIONS. ASSISTING OTHERS IN OPENING THE KITCHEN.
  • Attending all scheduled employee meetings and bringing suggestions for improvement.
  • Maintaining a good working relationship with all fellow employees.
  • Performing other related duties assigned by supervisors.
  • Performing all necessary Point of Sale and telephone functionality to take orders from customers (as needed).
  • Following all safe food handling practices.
  • Adhering to all rules and policies stated in the handbook.
Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • The ability to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
  • A basic knowledge of kitchen procedures and functions.
  • BASIC PHONE SKILLS AND THE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND THE POINT OF SALE SYSTEM IN ORDER TO TAKE PHONE ORDERS FROM CUSTOMERS.
  • The ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
  • The ability to safely lift and easily maneuver up to 50lbs of product.
