About the Role

Bellefaire JCB is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Psychiatric Residential Treatment Specialist to join our dynamic team at the Monarch Center for Autism. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive treatment services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and comorbid mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Care and Supervision: Provide direct assistance and supervision to individuals residing in the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) during various activities of daily living, including personal care, hygiene routines, toileting needs, and meal preparation.
  • Client Programming and Scheduling: Follow and assist in coordinating daily schedules, routines, and related client programming to ensure opportunities exist to target goals outlined on individual service plans.
  • Crisis Intervention and Support: Proactively provide support, guidance, communication strategies, environmental modification, and related de-escalation and physical management techniques for clients who may be experiencing acute crisis.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with Intervention Specialists, Behavior Specialists, Occupational Therapy Practitioners, Speech and Language Pathologists within the PRTF educational environment to target and deliver curriculum and skill acquisition targets to supplement clients' specific educational goals.
  • Client Education and Programming: Provide direct assistance to individuals' educational and related programming for clients residing in the PRTF by facilitating and/or implementing lesson plans, curriculum, and targeted goals/activities outlined in individuals' IEP, IPP, and/or individualized Care Plan.
  • Meetings and Collaboration: Participate in meetings, clinical rounds, case management team meetings, and other collaborative efforts to support the unique requirements of the PRTF.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Complete client-specific service documentation related to their individualized service plans, individualized education plans, and/or Care Plans.
  • Family and Stakeholder Engagement: Work with client families, team members, managers, and other stakeholders to optimize the program's ability to provide comprehensive treatment for all individuals residing within the program(s).
  • Training and Professional Development: Participate in mandatory and supplemental training necessary for working with individuals within the division of Monarch Residential Autism Services – PRTF, including behavioral supports, adaptive skill training, prompts for activities of daily living, and community integration as deemed appropriate in the Care Plan.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Minimum High School Diploma required with at least two years post-secondary education or certification and/or formal training in Autism Services required. A Bachelor's Degree in a related field (i.e., psychology, special education, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Basic knowledge of autism spectrum disorders, child and adolescent development, human sexuality, family dysfunction, psychology, sociology, behavior theory.
  • Experience and Background: At least one year of experience working with children, adolescents, and their families strongly preferred. Experience working in a PRTF, hospital, or hospital-like setting preferred.
