Heavy Equipment Mechanic Job Description

Michels Corporation is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our construction and utility equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques
  • Collaborate with other technicians and supervisors to resolve complex equipment problems
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and reduce costs
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest equipment technologies and advancements in the field

Requirements:
  • 2-5 years of experience working on heavy equipment or in a related field
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, drive trains, controls, and electrical systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software and systems
