Gravure Cylinder and Plate Technician

We are seeking a skilled Gravure Cylinder and Plate Technician to join our team at Quad. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for bending web offset printing plates for all presses in a specific location, performing daily and weekly processor maintenance, and processing gravure cylinders.

• Plate Bending and Maintenance: Load and unload platemaking materials to and from equipment to bend all size plates for press, maintain platemaking equipment, and perform daily and weekly processor maintenance.
• Gravure Cylinder Processing: Check plates/cylinders for quality, track or move job components through production using Smart tools, and perform cylinder stripping, electro-plating, and engraving.
• Storage and Retrieval: Load and unload, store, and retrieve gravure cylinders using automated Work in Progress (W.I.P.) & Long Term Storage (LTS) systems and overhead cranes following appropriate work instructions.
• Miscellaneous Duties: Perform general cleanup of the area, inspect cylinders, and assist with miscellaneous production duties.

• Experience: Previous manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.
• Knowledge and Skills: Basic working knowledge of computer systems used in the Plate room (Windows OS), basic mechanical skills, and ability to read, comprehend, and write instructions, correspondence, and present information when necessary.
• Flexibility: Flexible work schedules necessary to meet production needs – shifts and locations may vary.
