Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified teacher to join our team at the D.C. Virgo Preparatory Academy. As a middle grades teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering instruction based on the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. Your expertise in science and social studies will enable students to learn subject matter and skills that contribute to their educational and social development.

You will utilize a personalized student data management system to individualize learning experiences for students, designed to help them reach their fullest potential. Ongoing formative assessment will provide necessary data to inform instructional decisions and design appropriate interventions.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in middle grades education or related field;
  • Demonstrated success working with diverse populations and students who have historically struggled academically and socially;
  • Demonstrated evidence of professional development;
  • Valid North Carolina teaching license or eligibility to hold such license;
  • Master's degree in middle grades education or related field preferred.
