About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Systel Inc. This role is responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems, from conception to production, and ensuring that they meet the required specifications and quality standards.

The Key Responsibilities
  • Design Layout: Create detailed part fabrication drawings, work instructions, assembly drawings, and proposal drawings, as well as source control drawings and bills of material.
  • Prototyping: Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts and identify areas for improvement.
  • Interfacing: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, marketing, and production, to ensure that mechanical systems meet customer requirements.
  • Testing: Conduct environmental testing of product prototypes to ensure that they meet performance and quality standards.
  • Product Specification: Assist in creating product specification documents that meet customer requirements.
  • Product Configuration: Assist in creating product quotes that meet customer requirements.
  • Changes: Revise and update designs and documentation through the engineering change process.
  • Quality: Participate in quality processes, including meetings, training, and auditing, to ensure that mechanical systems meet quality standards.
  • Sustaining Engineering: Provide ongoing support for existing products and product lines, including resolving issues and implementing changes.
  • Product Support: Assist sales and marketing teams in providing technical support to customers.
  • Research and Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest technical developments and apply new knowledge to job projects and products.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with military computing technology
  • Strong technical skills, including computer-aided design and drafting
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Minimum Qualifications
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident required
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of design principles, tools, and techniques
  • Experience with precision sheet metal and CNC milling design
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
