Role Responsibilities
As a Breast Imaging Specialist, you will operate advanced mammography and DEXA imaging equipment under the guidance of the Breast Imaging Manager and Medical Director. Your expertise will be crucial in producing high-quality diagnostic images.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Educating patients prior to imaging procedures.
- Preparing necessary supplies and setting up equipment.
- Assisting in sterile technique procedures as required.
- Adhering to established quality assurance protocols.
- Maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality at all times.
- Supporting Radiologists as needed and performing related tasks as assigned.
This position requires flexibility, as you will float between various UCLA Health Breast Imaging Centers and participate in rotating shifts.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $46.87 to $61.80 per hour.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- The ability to identify contraindications for imaging exams.
- Strong prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to distinguish between various procedures and diagnoses.
- Independent decision-making skills in job functions.
- Professional telephone etiquette and the ability to manage high call volumes.
- An understanding of EMTALA requirements.
Preferred candidates will have at least one year of experience in Breast Imaging.
