Role Summary:
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist II (CLS II) operates under the guidance of senior technical staff in the Point of Care Testing Division. This role involves conducting routine laboratory assessments and may encompass some complex testing procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute and maintain laboratory testing equipment.
- Perform and document quality control measures.
- Train non-laboratory personnel in testing protocols.
- Identify and address issues that arise during testing.
- Verify and report laboratory results accurately.
- Support the overall operations of the laboratory with attention to the specific needs of the patient demographic served.

Qualifications:
- A valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist license in California or a limited license relevant to the job responsibilities.
- A Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, chemistry, medical technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience is required, with two years preferred. Experience in Point of Care testing is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and bending.
- Ability to lift materials weighing up to 25 pounds over distances of up to 10 feet.
- Regular use of computer equipment, including keyboards and monitors.

Additional Skills:
- Responsiveness to auditory signals and communication devices, including telephones and alarms.
- Near visual acuity with the ability to differentiate colors.
