Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Registered Nurse to join our team at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. As a Pediatric Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care to children enrolled in our local KIDS FIRST clinics, acting as a clinical resource for clinic staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement the nursing process to manage patient care problems of a complex and changing nature.
  • Assume accountability and responsibility for all aspects of care for assigned group of patients, with respect for developmental level and age-specific issues.
  • Administer medications and treatments and perform procedures according to UAMS and KIDS FIRST policies.
  • Evaluate children to identify signs of illness or injury and intervene appropriately.
  • Maintain current and accurate records and ensure confidentiality.
  • Integrate and share knowledge related to clinical practice.
  • Teaching/learning needs of patients and families are identified, addressed, and documented.
  • Acts as a resource for staff in the areas of health, safety, and infection control.
  • Assumes responsibility for acquiring knowledge and experience to meet professional goals.
  • Develops and maintains close working relationships with clinic director, Medical Director, nursing managers, clinic nurse and other team members.
  • Actively works with contacts to coordinate care and promote referrals to program.
  • Collaborates with KIDS FIRST staff, PCPs, UAMS resources and others to implement and revise plan of care as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associates Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelors in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing.
  • Valid RN License.
  • Minimum of 2 years Registered Nursing experience or 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong work ethics and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN or MSN.
  • 3 or more years nursing experience.
  • Pediatric Care experience.
  • Current BLS.
