Job Title: Overnight Janitorial Specialist

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Overnight Janitorial Specialist to join our team at Dulles International Airport. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of assigned areas within the airport.

Job Summary:

The Overnight Janitorial Specialist will perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Cleaning and maintaining buildings and facilities
  • Performing heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish
  • Notifying managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
  • Complying with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities
Responsibilities:

The Overnight Janitorial Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Cleaning and maintaining buildings and facilities
  • Following procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
  • Notifying the Manager concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
  • Complying with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities
  • Cleaning and dusting furniture, fixtures, floors, ceilings, walls, machines, and equipment
  • Moving cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks
  • Cleaning interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
  • Washing and replacing blinds
  • Gathering and emptying trash
  • Sweeping walks, raking leaves, cutting grass, removing snow, or performing other incidental seasonal tasks
  • Wiping and cleaning tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas
  • Service, cleaning, and supplying restrooms
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Meet all requirements to receive required airport SIDA badge, and Customs Seal, including completion of a background check and ten-year work history
  • Be willing to work on Saturday, Sunday, and three days from the weekdays (total of 5 days)
