Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Oncology ICU team at Medical City Dallas. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, age-specific care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in the Oncology ICU.
  • Implement and direct care using the nursing process, with emphasis on the needs of individual patients.
  • Use therapeutic communication to promote a supportive environment that treats patients and families with dignity, respect, and appreciation of their lifestyle, religion, and culture.
  • Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver and participate in department-specific initiatives and process improvement.
  • Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistants, nurse technicians, student nurses, and/or nurse interns.
  • Support the mission, vision, and values of Medical City Dallas.
Requirements
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider certification.
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification within 60 days of employment start date.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a high-acuity ICU medical/surgical setting.
  • Experience with graft vs host disease identification and management, cellular therapy complications, tumor lysis syndrome identification, infection prevention in neutropenic patients, administration of blood products, chemotherapy/biotherapy administration, and disease knowledge (leukemias, lymphomas, general blood dyscrasias).
