Position Summary:
The Surgical Services Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff. Key responsibilities include cleaning areas of responsibility, maintaining productivity and cost-effectiveness, and performing various tasks such as escorting patients, scheduling appointments, and restocking supplies. This hybrid role supports the PMH Surgical Services unit, with estimated accountabilities broken down as follows: 30% housekeeping, 30% clerical, and 40% skilled clinical (sterile, clinical assistant).
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED, basic computer knowledge, and ability to communicate effectively in English are required. BLS certification is also necessary within the orientation period. Preferably, the candidate should have 2 years of healthcare cleaning experience and 1 year of hospital experience.
