TITLE: Instructional Paraprofessional

JOB GOAL: To deliver both direct and indirect educational support services aimed at enhancing student learning outcomes and promoting a healthy educational environment.

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

REPORTS TO: Lead Educator and Principal

SUPERVISES: Support Staff and educational plans

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Possess and maintain relevant state certification as an Instructional Paraprofessional.
  2. Experience in educational settings with school-aged children is preferred.
  3. Demonstrated skills necessary to provide effective support to students with diverse learning needs.
  4. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with educators, administration, parents, and students.
  5. Possess and maintain current first aid and CPR certification.
  6. Valid driver's license is required.
  7. Strong interpersonal skills and public relations abilities.
  8. Ability to meet the suitability criteria for employment under applicable state laws.
  9. Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.
  10. Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
  11. Ability to work effectively as part of a team with diverse groups.
  12. Proficiency in verbal, written, and electronic communication, including the ability to create and deliver presentations.
  13. Management skills to supervise and guide students.
  14. Willingness to work after hours, on weekends, and during holidays as necessary.
  15. Organizational skills to maintain and report educational data.
  16. Competence in using technology necessary for job functions.

  6. Assist in the mobility of students as needed.
  7. Participate in meetings related to student educational plans.
  8. Review and communicate dietary restrictions and health-related needs with relevant staff.
  9. Collaborate with educators to identify students requiring specialized support and follow through on their educational plans.
  10. Gather necessary data to develop and implement individualized educational strategies.
  11. Support educators with local educational initiatives.
  12. Communicate effectively with educators to ensure educational plans are current and accurate.
  13. Follow established procedures for reporting absences.
  14. Provide direct support services within the scope of practice.
  15. Document all activities thoroughly and accurately.
  16. Compile required reports accurately and timely.
  17. Assist in implementing policies for health and safety within educational settings.
  18. Administer first aid as per established protocols.

SALARY: Based on the Alabama Department of Education Salary Schedule

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 187 Days

EVALUATION: Performance will be assessed according to established policies.
