Key Responsibilities
- Lead and/or collaborate with a team to oversee all aspects of design, redesign, systems failure analysis, and preventative measures within designated timelines and budgets.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for large-scale engineering projects, which may involve the creation of new systems or modifications to existing processes, including the evaluation and approval of work from other engineering disciplines.
- Provide support to the maintenance team by spearheading a Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) initiative.
- Serve as the Project Engineering Leader, responsible for drafting engineering reports such as concept designs, feasibility studies, and procedural manuals.
- Develop and assess Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) documents for capital funding needs.
- Manage contracts and service provisions, engage in strategic planning, and oversee budgeting processes.
- Conduct planning, scheduling, and economic analysis as required.
- May supervise technical or frontline personnel.
- Utilize design software such as AutoCAD, SAP, Microsoft Project, and Pipe2010.
- Explore and implement innovative methods for operational enhancement and benchmark against other operations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with five (5) years of relevant experience in an industrial or mining environment, or a Master's degree with three (3) years of relevant experience.
- Recent practical experience in Mechanical Engineering principles in areas such as Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), oil analysis, and leading engineering and construction activities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Mechanical Engineering practices and the ability to analyze complex information effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to adapt to various audiences.
- Awareness of occupational hazards and safety measures, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Over three years of maintenance experience in smelting, chemical manufacturing, or mining sectors.
- Familiarity with large rotating equipment and RCM disciplines including vibration analysis and thermography.
- Experience in industrial project management and procurement processes.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated annual salary range for this position is $94,000 - $132,000, based on experience and qualifications. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonuses or benefits. The role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
Additional Information
Candidates may be required to undergo a medical examination and must complete all necessary training and testing. Employees may work non-standard schedules, including shifts in a 24/7 operational environment.
