Position Overview

This position involves overseeing a complex chilled water network that supports a variety of facilities, utilizing both centrifugal and air-cooled chillers to deliver substantial cooling capacity. The role encompasses the management of central plants and smaller district systems, all governed by an advanced automated control system.

The Chilled Water Systems Specialist will work under the guidance of the Chilled Water Supervisor, responsible for the efficient operation, upkeep, and troubleshooting of automated central plants, district plants, and distributed chilled water systems, including both water- and air-cooled chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and control mechanisms.

Key Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in the operation, maintenance, installation, and repair of mechanical systems
  • Experience with computer-based building management systems
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations within one hour
  • Physical capability to lift heavy items, work in confined spaces, and perform various physical tasks
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills
  • Willingness to work in diverse weather conditions and flexibility for additional hours as needed
  • Designated as emergency response personnel

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-depth experience in the operation, maintenance, installation, and repair of chilled water systems
  • Experience in overseeing mechanical installation projects
  • Possession of relevant HVAC and/or Electrical Certifications
  • EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification
  • Specialized training in air conditioning, refrigeration, and automated building controls
  • Associate degree in Electronics, Building Automation, or a related field, or equivalent experience
