Position Overview


Under guidance and in accordance with established protocols, you will conduct precise and effective diagnostic imaging across various modalities. Your clinical skills will be vital in producing high-quality images for interpretation while adhering to radiation safety principles. You will consistently embody the philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform quality diagnostic imaging in areas where proficiency has been established.
  • Utilize hospital computer systems efficiently for order verification, schedule viewing, and patient worklists. Transmit information and images to PACS.
  • Adhere to verification protocols for patient identification and physician orders.
  • Gather comprehensive patient histories and ensure urgent requests are communicated to radiologists promptly.
  • Conduct imaging procedures and provide related patient care using age-appropriate techniques to ensure safety.
  • Follow universal precautions and maintain cleanliness of equipment and examination areas.
  • Implement ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure for patients, staff, and yourself.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical personnel, and colleagues.
  • Assist senior technologists with assigned tasks.
  • Work in designated areas of the department under indirect supervision where competency has been achieved.
  • Operate under direct supervision in fluoroscopy settings, including endoscopy and surgical procedures.
Qualifications

Education / Training:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, or Ultrasonography program at the second-year level.
Work Experience:
  • Training can be acquired during student status.
Certification, Licensure, Registration:
  • Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross.
