As a Registered Nurse Per Diem at Butler Hospital, you will provide direct patient care based on the knowledge of ANA Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, hospital policies and procedures, and the RI Nurse Practice Act. You will participate in treatment planning to coordinate management of medical and nursing care and discharge planning of patients. You will also coordinate psychiatric and/or medical emergencies, ensuring the individual in crisis is properly cared for and all other patients are safe.
Responsibilities- Administer medications with knowledge of action, mode of administration, side effects, and contraindications.
- Assume the role of Charge Nurse for the shift.
- Participate as an active team member by assisting other staff and accepting additional assignments to complete essential patient care and unit responsibilities.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Training and Experience: Current RI nursing license.
- Special Qualifications: B.S.N required. Minimum of 3 years of Acute Care Experience.
Availability for training is required, with the first week consisting of 4 shifts of day training. Remaining training will consist of 3 to 4 shifts per week, with no weekends or holidays. Per Diem Positions require 6 shifts per month, including 2 weekend shifts.
