Student Support Services

The Kodiak Island Borough School District is seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in providing classroom assistance for students with special needs through the Extended School Year program.

This program provides services to students eligible for extended school year services as defined under Individual Education Plans (IEPs). We are looking for a dedicated professional who can work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to ensure students receive the necessary support to achieve their academic goals.

We offer a competitive salary of $45 per hour, which is based on Alaska state standards. Our hiring process ensures that applicants meet the required qualifications, including a valid Alaska teaching certificate and a Special Education endorsement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing individual and group speech therapy sessions to students with special needs
  • Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Assessing student progress and adjusting treatment plans accordingly
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting to parents and administrators as needed
