Licensed Speech Language Pathologist Support Specialist

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of speech-language pathology principles and practices, including the ability to assess and treat students with speech-language disorders. You will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the supervising SLP and other stakeholders. Additionally, you will be able to provide direct treatment to students identified by and following documented treatment plans or protocols as directed by the supervising SLP or Audiologist.

About the Role
This is a part-time position with a .625 FTE, offering flexible scheduling options to accommodate your needs. You will work 202 days per year, with a regular shift from 8:45am-1:45pm, 5 hours/day. In addition to providing direct treatment to students, you will also assist the SLP with documentation during intervention or assessment sessions, schedule activities, and maintain records and data.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the SLP with documentation during intervention or assessment sessions (As Required)* Schedule activities, prepare and maintain charts, records, graphs or other displays of data (5% Weekly)* Organize and manage student data and records; perform clerical duties, such as scheduling of appointments, the set-up of materials for diagnostic and intervention sessions; (50-75% Weekly)* Provide direct treatment to students identified by and following documented treatment plans or protocols as directed by the supervising SLP or Audiologist (50-75%)* Collaborate with SLP regarding student status, abilities, and progress toward the IEP goals (Weekly 5%)
Requirements
* Completion of an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Disabilities with a Speech/Language Support Emphasis or a Bachelor's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution* Possession of a State of Alaska Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant license required* Successful completion of the competency-based checklist examination from the Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant Registration Application Packet through the Alaska Division of Occupational Licensing* Ability to attend 15 hours of continuing education hours every two years as stipulate in the State of Alaska Licensing requirements through professional development training* Experience working in a public school system preferred
