The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Crouse Hospital is a 57-bed unit providing treatment to intensive and sub-intensive babies. Our team of skilled professionals is responsible for assessment of status, stabilization of neonates at all high-risk deliveries, assisted ventilation/oxygen therapy, care of pre and post-operative patients, maintaining/monitoring invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring, assist with bedside procedures, assist with invasive surgical procedures performed in the NICU, and assist with diagnostic testing (MRI, CAT scan, sonograms, cardiac catheterizations, and eye exam).

A Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the planning, implementing, and evaluation of care for a given patient population with the established standards and practices of Crouse Hospital. This process is enacted through direct clinical practice, management of patient care, and general professional duties.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited associate degree
A Graduate Nurse (GN) must complete NCLEX within 120 days of employment
Bachelor of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program or higher degree (preferred)
Current New York State licensure as a Registered Nurse
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Certification in a specialty area (preferred)
Neonatal Resuscitation required by end of orientation
ACLS required within 1 year
PALS required within 1 year
